Year 10 Covid test results for Tuesday March 8th 120 out of 126 students have turned up for their tests. ALL have been negative for Covid-19 antibodies.

As a carer or parent, it's understandable you may feel a little uneasy about your child returning to school from tomorrow (Monday 8 March) onwards. Rest assured though, social distancing measures will be in place & staff will be having regular tests to keep pupils safe.

Traffic heads up: The Hale Works development will be having their tower crane removed on weekend of 13/14 March. This will mean the closure the East Bound lane on Ferry Lane on Friday 12th from 10pm until 5am on Monday 15th March.

Fearful of the lateral flow test being used on Friday and next week? Watch this NHS film by Barts Hospital of how to do the test safely. Just 1.5cm in your nostril or until you feel resistance. The swab does not pierce the skin inside your nose.

Item Description
Blazer Grey Blazer with Academy colours and emblem.
Jumper Black with Academy colours and emblem.  No other jumpers, hoodies, sweatshirts or waistcoats will be permitted.
Tie Striped grey with Academy and House colours. Ties should be worn with a small knot, worn to the neck and be of the correct length.
Shirt Plain white shirt. Tucked in with the top button done up at all times.
Trousers Black classic style school trousers. No slim fit, chinos or jean like material.
Skirt Black Pleated Skirt from School Supplier - Knee Length.
Socks Plain black socks.
Shoes Plain black leather or leather look shoes.  No coloured stitching, logos, fancy buckles, trainers, canvas shoes or pumps are allowed.
Bag Messenger or Rucksack with Academy colours and emblem. No other bags will be allowed in the Academy.
Coat & Hats Plain black - no logo.

Additional guidance

Pupils are not allowed to wear make-up (including nail varnish or false nails) to school. If they do, they will be asked to remove it on entry to the Academy. No jewellery is to be worn except:

  • Earrings – plain studs
  • A watch

Hairstyles should be kept to an appropriate style – no extreme haircuts or colouring (natural shades only). This includes ensuring no lines or designs are shaved into the head or eyebrows. If the Hijab is worn, it must be plain black. The Academy reserves the right to make a judgement on acceptability.

Pupils not adhering to the uniform policy will either be sent home to change or placed in our referral room.
