Welcome

Afia websiteDear Student,

Welcome to Harris Academy Tottenham. We are proud to be a double Outstanding Sixth Form, based in the heart of Tottenham.

Here you will find an innovative and academic setting for your studies, which will provide both challenge and support as you aim towards the next steps in your academic careers.

We offer outstanding opportunities with industry experts to propel you towards successful careers in your respective fields of interest. Above all, we pride ourselves in creating an environment in which you can fulfil your potential and cultivate the best version of yourself.

Applications

Applications to the Sixth Form for academic year 2024-25 will open on 1st November 2023. You can apply here.

What can you expect?

As a student at Harris Academy Tottenham, you can expect excellent tuition, small class sizes and our full support as you work towards building a successful and fulfilling future.

As part of your experience, we make sure you have the opportunity to work with, and hear from, leading practitioners in the field you are interested in. Through our partnership with Harris Federation, we deliver a programme of Master classes through which students are exposed to up-to-date research around their subject areas. Throughout the year, we ensure all students have contact with academics, practitioners, and industry experts from leading universities to facilitate academic and personal growth.

There will also be guided study support before and after school and small tutorials with specialist staff to make sure that you achieve excellently and are fully prepared for your future education and career choices.

What is your curriculum offer?

There are two strands of post-16 study available at Harris Tottenham Sixth Form. The first strand is our traditional academic curriculum. We are an academic centre of excellence that ensures our pupils gain the opportunities, support and guidance needed to access the UK’s leading universities.

The A Level courses we offer are highly regarded by Russell Group universities, specialist colleges and by top employers. Full details can be found in our Prospectus and Sixth Form Curriculum pages.

The second strand is the Kinetic Football Academy launched in 2020 to offer an individualised, innovative football and education programme for 16-18 year olds. Through our partnership with Kinetic, we are able to facilitate the aspirations of all our students, including those with a passion for football. By doing so, we secure all future outcomes for you; both academic and otherwise.

Beyond academic excellence

We see our Sixth Form students as the ultimate ambassadors for our academy; our younger students aspire to be in your shoes. As such, we place you into one of our houses, named after leading scientists and mathematicians.

Your dedicated Sixth Form tutor provides a daily point of contact for you, whilst ensuring you have the support you need to excel in your learning. There are opportunities to work alongside our younger students in a range of capacities, if you want to, so that you feel a part of our family.

Students in the Sixth Form follow a comprehensive tutorial programme which encourages them to engage with and debate challenging contemporary issues such as radicalisation, FGM, domestic abuse and the British parliamentary system. The assembly system, and programme of visiting speakers ensures that you have access to experts who provide an insight into health and wellbeing, relationships, and living in the wider world. You will also be able to take an active role within the Academy, and the Student Parliament system extends into KS5, for which elections run during the Autumn term.

Our Sixth Form continues to grow from strength to strength, and as part of the Harris Federation, we have a range of partnerships with leading universities, established through the excellent reputation of our Federation, including with the University of Oxford, King’s College and UCL.
