The academy is now open again to all students but we are keeping this page up-to-date in case any students need to return to studying from home again for a while, because of Covid-19.
Please see the Primary section of our website for further details of the curriculum and how you can support children at home.
All children have been provided with HATO Learning Packs across a range of subjects. The work provided is based on children’s prior learning and is aimed at ensuring children recap and practise core skills. This will include recapping skills such as number bonds, times tables, phonic sounds and spellings and revisiting topics they have already studied to see how much they can remember.
If your child is finding any of the work that has been set challenging, please do not worry. Please do encourage the children to have a go at the different tasks and try their best.
For some year groups, children have received CGP books across for different subjects. These books are for the children to work through at their own pace. They are again to be used to recap and practise core skills.
As always, reading every day remains as important as ever. Please encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes a day and where possible talk about what they have read. This aids their understanding of the text and supports their comprehension skills.
Twinkl is a website that produces and provides learning resources for teachers, parents and children. Twinkl have communicated that they will be offering every teacher, parent and carer one month of ultimate membership. To set this up, go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS.
During term time, a member of the team will contact you and your child to see how you are and how your child is getting on with their learning. It will also provide you with the space to answer any questions about the work set as part of the Learning Packs.
If you have any specific concerns or queries, please do contact us via email@example.com – the account will be monitored closely and we will endeavour to respond to all queries as quickly as possible.
I would also like to thank-you for your ongoing support and understanding. If you have any ideas for how we can help you further, please contact Ms Smith, Head of Primary on firstname.lastname@example.org.
