In HATO Sixth Form you can take part in a wide range of enrichment opportunities.

Full details of the opportunities available in your area can be obtained through talking with colleagues at the Sixth Form events, but the opportuntiies include:

  • Sports teams
  • Drama and Performing Arts clubs and performances
  • Debating Club
  • Lectures from external speakers
  • Regular trips and visits linked to your courses.

Extended Project Qualification

The Level 3 Extended Project allows learners to study a topic of their choice in great depth, extending their learning in the chosen area of study and developing highly desirable skills which will help prepare students for either University study or the world of work.  

This is an AS qualification so and students receive UCAS points. The Extended Project gives students an opportunity to manage and conduct their own research and investigate areas of interest about which they are passionate.

Through our links within the Harris Federation, there are opportunities to work with leading universities, including Kings College and Imperial College, and leading professional organisations, based in and around the city.


Student leadership

Sixth Form students have the opportunity to join our Student Parliament and take a leading role in this capacity. We will elect a Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister from our Sixth Form.

There are also opportunities to work with younger students, through the role of a Prefect, or Mentor.
