Only 1 Covid case in 3000 London schools last week and only 9 over last 4 weeks. Is the virus disappearing?

Rafael Lemkin was born 120 years ago. He coined the term and fought relentlessly for the recognition and prevention of the crime. We hope that we can all play our part in making 'Never again' a reality.

Thank you. We will check and connect. If we cannot identify the person we will direct message you if that is okay?

Autumn update

Wow! What a term Reception have had! They have settled into school exceptionally well – we are all very proud of them!

They started the term having their RWI lessons as a whole class but have made excellent progress that they have now been split into smaller learning groups so that they can make even more progress. Some of us are working on recognising our Set 1 sounds and some of us are moving onto reading short stories. It has been lovely to see the children remembering their phonic sounds and using them back in the provision, where they have had the opportunity to write thank you cards, draw story maps, write lists and describe characters from our focus stories.

In our Maths lessons we have been working extremely hard to secure our knowledge of numbers up to 10 – we have been finding one more and one less, counting forwards and backwards, ordering numbers and writing numbers. After the Christmas holidays, we are hoping to consolidate our knowledge of numbers and move on to learning all about shapes. Throughout Continuous Provision sessions, the children have had a wide range of learning opportunities to build upon their creative skills, communication and language, social and emotional development and physical development. Having access to both the indoors and outdoors provision means that Reception have been able to paint portraits, count out objects as well as practise their balance skills on the daily assault course.

Both Robins and Sparrows have had a wonderful first term, we are really looking forward to seeing the progress that the children make next year. Thank you for your ongoing support this term, have a lovely break!

Spring 2

Reception have had a wonderful time learning all about minibeasts this half term and became excellent story tellers! We had pupils pretending to be ‘Bad Tempered Ladybirds’ and ‘Very Hungry Caterpillars’ and pupils narrating the story as they went along – they all did a fantastic job! We also celebrated World Book Day, where they dressed up as their favourite book character.

They have also really excelled in their maths learning - we have been learning about doubling numbers up to 10, we have created our own patterns and we have also been learning all about time! The children have blown us away with how quickly they have learnt how to tell the time to the nearest hour (o’clock times), so please test them throughout the day, encouraging them to read the clocks carefully!

As always, Reception have continued to show their wonderful creative skills, through a range of craft activities, such as making their own ladybirds, clocks, greetings cards and generally creating wonderful creations of their own, such as masks, behaviour ladders and certi cates!

We hope you are staying safe at home, and we cannot wait to see the wonderful Home Learning that you produce, all about Princesses and Pirates!
