At Harris Academy Tottenham, in the Primary phase, Computing is broken down further into Digital Literacy, Computer Technology and Coding. In EYFS, our pupils are exposed to technology in a variety of ways and on a multitude of platforms. This continues in Year 1-6 through the Purple Mash scheme of work which allows them to communicate effectively, think critically, collaborate with their peers and create.

All KS3 pupils are taught Computing once a week in a discrete, single lesson in Year 7, 8 and 9.  At KS4 pupils can elect to study the OCR Computer Science GCSE. In the Sixth Form the OCR Computer Science A-Level is also a popular choice.

Our pupils are equipped with the skills and knowledge to face the challenges of modern technology, to advance their studies in the subject to a higher level or to seek employment at a professional level.

Mission Statement

The Computing curriculum provides our pupils with the opportunity to study aspects of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Computer Science (CS). They become digitally competent: able to use a range of computing technologies with confidence, to develop their ideas and to express themselves through it.

Pupils are also enabled to harness the power of programming and computational thinking to be successful, responsible, innovative and effective thinkers and problem-solvers. Our pupils utilise their skills to advance their study of this and other subjects, become suitable for the future workplace and are ready to actively partake and change the digital world.
